Function and benefits of a Custom Broker such as Rulewave Inc.
Customs brokers are licensed by the U.S. Customs & Border Protection and regulated by the Treasury Department.
The Customs broker is primarily the agent for the importer who employs them. Often as not the broker is the importer’s only point of contact with the U.S. Customs Service and advises on the technical requirements of importing, preparing and filing entry documents, obtaining the necessary bonds, securing the release of goods and arranging delivery to the importer’s premises or warehouse. The broker often consults with Customs to detemine the proper rate of duty or basis of appraisement and if dissatisfied with either rate or value will then pursue appropriate administrative remedies on behalf of the importer.
To transact such business on behalf of another party, Rulewave Inc will require a valid and unlimited Power of Attorney in order to conform with legal requirements.
We have access to ACS – U.S. Customs Service Automated Commercial System - which facilitates import transactions and allows for status checks throughout the clearance process. Moreover, we have the necessary expertise to save you from making costly errors due misrepresentation of data.
